Enter through the Blue Gate and walk into one of the oldest living medinas in the world.
Fes el-Bali was founded in the 9th century, and much of it still works the way it did then. We enter through Bab Boujloud, the Blue Gate, and follow the main lanes down past bakeries, fountains and mule traffic.
Along the way we visit a carved madrasa, pass the gates of Al Quaraouiyine, one of the oldest universities in the world, and climb to a terrace above the Chouara tannery to watch the dyers at work below.
Meet your guide and step into Fes el-Bali.
Carved cedar, zellige and the story of Al Quaraouiyine.
Watch the dye pits from a terrace above.
Finish with mint tea near Place Seffarine.
